Serving Our Community

DEER LAKE YOUTH COUNCIL

Our members participate in a variety of projects, ranging from weekly phone banks, to campaign managing, to hosting district-wide social events. DLYC also welcomes any project ideas its members may have and provides them with resources.

ABOUT US

DLYC is a partisan, youth-based council, under the guidance of Anne Kang, the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Burnaby – Deer Lake. We seek to stimulate youth interest in civic engagement and provides insight into Burnaby's political scene. Members work with politicians from all three levels of government and with peers that share similar interests. From participating in community projects such as workshops, picnics, and fundraisers to volunteering in political campaigns through phone banking, door canvassing, and flyering, DLYC provides a unique opportunity for high school students throughout the city.

TESTIMONIALS

"I am constantly inspired by the youths of our community. As a mother, a teacher, and a life long learner, I want to help youths to realize their dream and full potential.  Deer Lake Youth Council seeks to support youths in turning their 'Passion into Action.'"
