Executive Team

Tanya is currently a junior at Moscrop Secondary School. Her journey with DLYC began in Summer 2021, when she first started phone banking. Since then, she has worked her way up by participating in events, volunteering, and taking on leadership responsibilities in the council. She is more than excited to take on the role of co-chair and is looking forward to the upcoming quarters!

Jessica has been a member of DLYC for the past 4 years. She was first introduced in the council through her friends, but later found a great passion in helping her local community and leading the community. Jessica will strive to connect with and support the local community through her leadership role at DLYC.

Yi ling is excited to be the Events Executive for 23/24!

Meng Xu is a current grade 11 student study in NWSS. She joined DLYC one year ago and had participated in many interesting volunteer activities. As the new executive who is responsible for marketing and outreach, she hopes to provide more opportunities for members to contribute to the community and gain memorable experiences. In her free time, she enjoys painting and playing sports such as badminton, weightlifting, swimming, skating and snowboarding. She also likes to spend time with friends and family. Meng is very exciting to work with everyone and growing with DLYC!

From a general member to a social media coordinator, Jen was able to learn many skills and meet different people. Jen says it is very fortunate to gain the opportunity to experience these through DLYC. Moreover, she is very thrilled to have more experiences over time and work with other passionate students.

Sanvi Gupta, a 14-year-old Finance Coordinator of Deer Lake Youth Council, is inspired by her loving, supportive, and hardworking mother and hopes to continue acquiring leadership skills to ignite her passion for volunteering. Now that she is an executive member, she plans to assist in facilitating diversified events to gain a deeper understanding of her locality. Her responsibilities include overseeing, coordinating, and administrating the finances, to ensure that well-informed money decisions are prioritized. As part of her interests, she enjoys swimming, public speaking, and exploring the world to the fullest extent possible.

Michelle is excited to be the Events Executive for 23/24!

Pavni is a grade 10 student and Moscrop Secondary School.She is really excited to be a part of DLYC and give back to her community through the events organized by her council. By being the Website Executive She hopes to learn more about Website Graphics and Designing and use these skills to improve DLYC's website.

Samiha is a grade 10 student and has been an active member of DLYC since 2022. As the Secretary, she takes on a leadership role to support all the departments of DLYC. She is an avid volunteer and also the founder of her schools first club representing South Asian culture. Samiha loves music by The Weeknd, enjoys watching summer sunsets on the beach and could travel miles to find the perfect bubble tea.
